Life’s too short is an emotional, romantic, funny and heartfelt read reminding us that everyday should be lived like its our last. It was my first book from Abby Jimenez and i must say it was the most emotional and life affirming read till now. I literally cried reading this. Its a heartfelt happy ever after that makes you believe in fate, love and resilience.

Characters

Vanessa Price is a travel blogger and social media celebrity who loves to vlog her travels, is adventurous and full of life. Despite of a troubled childhood, she does not let her spirits die no matter how difficult life gets. She takes each day as it comes and believes in living life to the fullest.

Adrian Copeland is a successful lawyer and thrives on having control and routine in his life. He is a grumpy workaholic who needs to let loose and live life a little. He has abandonment issues and refrains from getting into serious commitments.

Plot

Vanessa’s life takes a spin when her addict sister left her newborn at her doorstep unannounced. Now she has to take care of her niece ‘Grace’ while fighting her own battles. She has a family history of a life threatening disease which is knocking at her doorstep now. She has limited time and is determined to make the most of it. Adrian her grumpy and insanely handsome neighbor who she has been crushing on finds out one night that the hot mess living next to him is barely holding it together while caring for an infant. He falls first and hard for them. She is the sunshine he needs and he is the anchor who keeps her still. She knows she cant have him as she might not be there in an year. She makes him feel alive, shares his love for food, makes him look at life from a complete different perspective. Her and grace’s presence fills the void in his life and he cannot imagine life without them now. Vanessa’s physical uncertainties test their relationship but besides all the hardships, they manage to find their happy ever after in the most heart wrenching way.

The character of Vanessa is so beautifully written, her resilience, her will to be happy and have fun even in the darkest times is remarkable. The adorable bond of Adrian and Grace is beautifully crafted. How from day one she instantly calms down whenever with him as they are destined to be together. Vanessa and Adrian’s journey touches the soul. Its so mesmerizing to read how they support each other at every step, develop trust for one another and fall in everlasting love as they are made for each other. Their future is uncertain, but they choose each other. This book would make you believe in fate and soulmates. It will make you feel everything—laughter, tears, and deep reflection. Don’t want to give any more spoilers. Go ahead, dive in. Trust me its worth reading.
